One of Nature's main goals is to provide consumers with an independent marketplace where they can find conformed information on various environment-friendly and health products. There they can make an informed choice based on the comparison of indisputable evidence about certificates, origins, the product origin, purity, composition and the disposal of contents and packaging.

Nature operates an online shopping center and provides sellers with two possibilities to link their products to guidelines and content-information:

One way is to register products (see prices below) for presentation only, and the other way is to register them and sell directly. In this way the products will link to more detailed information about their contents, environmental guidelines and how to dispose of them to name a few possibilities.

Nature’s Market provides full service to both small and large scale sellers, to provide a healthy competitive environment just like on a large “natural market.” Consumers are free to surf/stroll around the market and compare the different products without fear of one seller being favored above others in any way.

What is so eco-friendly about shopping at Nature's Market?

Nature's Market, our online store, offers a variety of organic, natural and eco-labeled products. In order to provide consumers with information on eco-friendly and healthy products, each offers links to further detailed information on contents, certifications, and recycling possibilities. The idea is that as you browse our online store you also learn about each label and what they stand for simply by moving the curser over them. This applies to the eco-labels, the organic certifications as well as the fair trade and recycling labels. Today we can offer over three hundred products in twentynine departments, and the selection just keeps growing. Our aim is to provide products from all product categories.

Another thing to mention about Nature's Market is that your purchases will be delivered straight to your doorstep. CO2 emissions and other harmful effects of transportations are thus kept to a minimum, as the mail-delivery drives by your home most days anyway. Driving your own car from store to store on the other hand pollutes more as well as costing you both money and time.

Shopping on Nature's Market can thus be both cheaper and more eco-friendly when all things are considered. Furthermore the Product Search enables you to narrow the search down to the producer, label and certification.

See here to the right under Product Search on Nature's Market. The Product Search is ideal for eco-conscious shopping both by the family and by public institutions.

All products registered on Nature's Market pop up during the Product search, whether they are directly for sale or only presented. Everyone can ask for their product range to be registered on Nature's Market and thus everyone can offer the consumer to compare a wide range of products with regard to ecological criteria. Besides the products are connected via the web to detailed information on ingredients, environmental criteria, recycling possibilities, and there are also links on news about the product, producer and other related parties.

Energy Star orkumerkið

ENERGY STAR (orku-stjarna) er verkefni á vegum bandarískra stjórnvalda sem býður framleiðendum og neytendum upp á orkusparandi lausnir, sem gerir það auðvelt að spara bæði orku og peninga og standa vörð um rétt komandi kynslóða til betra lífs. Orkusparnaður á heimilinu getur sparað fjölskyldum allt að 1/3 af orkureikningnum án þess að það bitni á gæðum og þægindum. ENERGY STAR merkið á vörum tryggir að vörurnar uppfylla stranga staðla EPA og Orkuráðuneytis Bandaríkjanna um orkusparnað.

GEEA - merki um orkusparneytin tæki

GEEA stendur fyrir Group of Energy Efficient Applicances (hópur um orkusparneytin tæki) og er samstarf 8 evrópuríkja með það að markmiði að minnka orkunotkun í Evrópu. Þetta er ekki raunverulegt merki heldur eru settir fram ákveðnar kröfur um orkunotkun og síðan geta framleiðendur skráð sínar vörur á heimasíðu GEEA ef þeir uppfylla kröfurnar á bak við GEEA. Framleiðendur geta síðan sent upplýsingar um orkunotkun og að vörur þeirra uppfylli kröfur GEEA þegar vörur eru auglýstar eða afhentar.
GEEA hefur sem markmið að vera fremst í þróuninni og að um 30% af markaðnum fyrir hverja vöru eigi að uppfylla kröfurnar á bak við GEEA. Þetta merki er nokkuð metnaðarfyllra en Energy star.
