Norræni menningarsjóðurinn - styrkir Náttúruna

Early in 2010, Nature’s representatives applied for a contribution from the Nordic Culture Fund to collaborate with the Reykjavik International film festival (RIFF) on focusing on environmental films and panel discussions on the festival this autumn. Nature.is received the support.

The Althingi - The Icelandic Parliament - supports Nature.is

At the beginning of winter 2007, Nature’s representatives applied for a contribution from the Budget Committee of the Parliament on the grounds that the site serves as a public environmental database free of charge. The project was issued a grant from the 2008 state budget after a presentation before the Parliament’s Committee of Environmental Issues.

Again Nature.is gained the recognition of Althingi and got a grant from the 2009 state budget.

Now for the third year in a row Nature.is applied successfully for a grant from the state budget. This time to develop practical eco-conscious shopping guidelines for homes and a green bookkeeping function for homes and small companies in collaboration with Landsvirkjun.

Landsvirkjun - supports Nature.is

Nature.is is developing a green bookkeeping function for homes and small companies for use here on Nature.is. The use of the function will be free of charge to everyone. Landsvirkjun partly finances the project which has also been granted support on the 2010 state budget. The function is developed in collaboration between Nature's team, Landsvirkjun and other specialists in the field.

The City of Reykjavík - supports Nature.is

In the summer of 2009, Nature.is entered an idea-competiton for new tourism-services in the city af Reykjavík. Nature.is suggested that the City of Reykjavík would help finance the development of a Green Map of Reykjavík and would link the online Green Map Reykjavík on Nature.is from it's Reykjavík's websites. Green Map Reykjavík was one of seven projects winning a prize in the competition which enabled us to map green solutions in the city. The first link to Green Map Reykjavík is to be found on visitreykjavik.is meant to encourage tourists in Reykjavík to make use of green solutions during their visit.

Nature.is has developed Green Map Reykjavík in collaboration with Green Map System® and the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Iceland.
