Náttúran.is fékk umhverfisstyrk frá Landsbankanum

Á mánudaginn leið afhenti Landsbankinn 17 aðilum umhverfisstyrki sem auglýstir höfðu verið lausir til umsóknar í nóvember 2011. Umhverfisstyrkjunum er ætlað er að styðja við verkefni á sviði umhverfismála og náttúruverndar. Styrkirnir byggja á nýrri stefnu bankans um samfélagslega ábyrgð hans og skyldur í samfélaginu. Eitt af verkefnunum sem fengu styrk var Endurvinnslukort sem Náttúran.is þróar nú í formi snjallsímaforrits en appinu er ætlað er veita upplýsingar um alla endurvinnslumöguleika í landinu og fræða almenning um umhverfisvernd og sjálfbærni.

Fleiri nýjunga er að vænta frá Náttúrunnu á þessu ári en á Degi umhverfisins þ. 25. apríl nk. mun vefurinn fagna 5 ára afmæli sínu og þar með 5 ára ókeypis umhverfisfræðslu fyrir alla. Reyndar rak Guðrún vefinn Grasa-Guddu frá ágúst 2005 svo fréttir um umhverfismál á vef Náttúrunnar ná rúmlega 6 ár aftur í tímann með hátt í 7000 efnisgreinum og fjölda þjónustuliða sem studdir eru af gagnagrunnum með ítarefni yfir þúsundir aðila, vottanir og viðmið, vörur og náttúrugæði.

Althingi and Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism had preveouslly fundet the development of Nature's Green Map project. Also the University of Iceland - School of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the Ministry for the Environment and The City of Reykjavík wich again supported the second printed version of the Green Map of Reykjavík.

Note that contributors have no special rights regarding registration on the map as the Green Map registration depends entirely on the conditions and criteria which are inherent in the system. Green Map of Reykjavík is not sold, but distributed free of charge in the hope that it will encourage the rapid greening of the city of Reykjavík and of the whole country. It can be ordered in our online store Nature's Market and sent to you anywhere in the world at the cost of packaging and delivery (order here). The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture - supports Nature.is

Early in 2009, Nature’s representatives applied to The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture for a grant to fund the distribution of the Nature cards ’52 Eco-tips for you and the environment’, to all schools in Iceland. The Ministry sponsored the project and again in 2011 to fund the distribution to all preschools in Iceland.

The Althingi - The Icelandic Parliament - supports Nature.is

At the beginning of winter 2007, Nature’s representatives applied for a contribution from the Budget Committee of the Parliament on the grounds that the site serves as a public environmental database free of charge. The project was issued a grant from the 2008 state budget after a presentation before the Parliament’s Committee of Environmental Issues.

Again Nature.is gained the recognition of Althingi and got a grant from the 2009 state budget.

Now for the third year in a row Nature.is applied successfully for a grant from the state budget. This time to develop practical eco-conscious shopping guidelines for homes and a green bookkeeping function for homes and small companies in collaboration with Landsvirkjun.

Nature.is applied again for a grant from the state budget for the projects of 2011 and was successful for the fourth year in a row.
