The Kid's Room
The environment of the child has to be safe and fulfill all it’s needs both day and night. Parents sometimes go to extremes in decorating a kid’s room. Too much stuff can stifle the child’s imagination and put them in the position that they need to choose and decide all the time. Children do not need all this stuff. Simple durable toys that grow with the kid can make them just as happy and stimulate them to use their imagination.
The colors in a room have an impact on the mind of a child and the kind of materials used can affect the child’s mood and his health in general. A room full of plastic toys and synthetics does not have a good impact. The latest research shows that phthalates are often used in some toys even though they disrupt hormones and can be really dangerous for children.
There is a rising awareness of the role of chemicals in our environment but this is a complex issue. In order to get harmful chemicals out of production, the consumer has to be informed and avoid buying items containing materials that can affect our children’s health.
