The Living Room
The living room is a common space where the family relaxes and spends quality time together. You read there, listen to music, watch TV and receive visitors. Your furniture selection has to match the size of the family and the age span of the children.
The furniture you choose can have ramifications for the whole world, depending on whether its made of wood from a rain forest or not. The protection of the rain forests is our common responsibility. If demand for its wood sufficiently diminishes, its destruction will be halted. Hence, a simple decision as to what we buy can profoundly affect the world.
Another big environmental issue in the living room is energy use. The TV usually uses most of the energy. The new LCD´s need an enormous amount of energy, much more than ordinary TV sets. Lighting and how to choose lightbulbs can also be very important.
