The Bedroom - Shoes

Shoes, like so many other things, exist in various levels of quality. Handmade shoes have become rare, and mass production has taken over the stage. The shoe industry has expanded to Asia where it is often difficult to ascertain whether the production has been environmentally friendly or harmful both for the workers and the environment.

Nevertheless there are shoe designers and producers everywhere in the world that work according to the principles of sustainable development and which both consider the comfort of the shoes and their environmental impact. It is our decision as consumers to buy their products instead of others.

If good shoes are well managed and they are brushed and shined regularly they can last for many years, even decades. It saves money to buy quality products, even though it is more expensive. Cheap clothing and shoes saves almost no money in the long run because you have to buy shoes several times in order to satisfy the same need.
