Fair Trade Products
Fair trade is a confirmation of the fact that the product is produced in an ethically responsible way without affecting the health of workers and without financially exploiting personel.
Fair trade is not based on grants or subsidies, but rather on insurance to farmers for fair pay, safe working environment, further development and respect for human rights as well as the environment, which is the basis of a secure economical and social development.
Here in the Fair trade department you'll find all Fair trade certified products on Nature's Market. By choosing to buy Fair trade products you are joining in the fight for fair pay and safer working conditions, organic agriculture and support democratization and improvement of living conditions in the poorer regions of the world.

Fair Trade

The goals of Fair Trade certification are: To ensure that workers and producers receive fair pay for their labor. To campaign against child labor and discrimination based on gender, color of skin or religion. To promote organic production as well as democratic development and quality products. The international Fair trade certification goes by many names depending on various countries. For example: “Max Havelaar”, “Fair Trade” and “Transfair”. CO2 Carbon Label

The Carbon Trust is the UK’s leading authority on carbon reduction, helping business deal with the challenges and opportunities on the road to a low carbon economy. The Carbon Trust has devised a carbon label that reveals the carbon footprint of products and services used. The Carbon Trust measures the emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases in a product’s manufacture, distribution, use and disposal. This is referred to as the product’s carbon footprint. These labels can thus help us make informed choices so we can reduce our own carbon footprints.

EKO Sustainable Textiles

EKO Sustainable Textiles is a Dutch certificate for textiles. Its label on a product identifies it as being made of organic fibres and that its production is environmentally sustainable, as well as being in accordance with the EEC regulation no. 2092/91 on global organic standards for the textile industry.

Fair Wear Foundation

As a foundation, FWF supports and promotes good labor conditions in garment production and verifies whether companies comply with the Code of Labor Practices, which is based on standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Declaration of Human Rights. The foundation is originally Dutch but the following are the original founders: Max Havelaar Organisation, Modint, Mitex, FNV, FNV Bondgenoten, Wereld Winkel, Schone Kleren Kampagne and Oxfam Novib.

Soil Association

The Soil Association is the UK's leading campaigning and certification organization for organic food and farming. Its standards cover both the EC Regulations and the Compendium of UK Organic Standards and are in many cases more robust than those set by EU regulations, especially those involving animal welfare. The organic certification standards of the Icelandic organic certification agency Tún are developed in accord with the Soil Association and with its cooperation.

Wind Powered

The Wind Powered logo signifies that the product is manufactured using electricity generated by self-sustaining wind-power plants.

Öko-Tex

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a globally uniform testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. The test for harmful substances comprise substances which are prohibited or regulated by law, chemicals which are known to be harmful to health, and parameters which are included as a precautionary measure to safeguard health. Manufacturers are entitled to mark successfully tested products or article groups with the Oeko-Tex label. A certificate which is issued, applies for one year and can be renewed as often as required.
