The goal of the Iceland Carbon Fund (Kolviður) is to reduce the level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere by sequestering carbon in vegetation and soils.

ICF enables people and companies to calculate their transportation-related CO2 emissions (from cars and flights) and to buy an offset for those emissions. The amount paid goes towards forestry projects, such as tree planting. Planting and supervision of ICF forests is performed by local forestry associations or other contractors. The work is certified and audited by KPMG Iceland.
