Taste the Westfjords - Local food

“Taste the Westfjords“ is a regional development project in Food Tourism. The aim is to promote and increase the visibility of Westfjords‘ top quality food. The purpose of the project is to foster and build up a progressive cooperation amongst Westfjords‘ companies, food producers, restaurants, shops and tourism agents. Innovation is encouraged and special emphasis is put on product development, motivating new techniques in the production, processing and cooking practices of Westfjords local ingredient and related services.

MSC - Marine Stewardship Council

The Marine Stewardship Council is an independent, global, non-profit organization whose role is to recognize, via a certification program, well-managed fisheries and to harness consumer preference for seafood products bearing the MSC label of approval.Because of these standards, and the methodologies that support them, you can be sure that seafood carrying the MSC label comes from a certified sustainable fishery and every company in the supply chain has passed a detailed traceability audit.
